IES la FOIA (Spain)
Secondary and Vocational Training State School, 450 students. We offer Secondary Education, Bachillerato and Vocational Training in different fileds: Moulding(Machining), Plastics Injection and Administration and Finance. For this project, we will work with students of Technician in Forming by Metal and Polymer Moulding (Técnico en Conformado por Moldeo de Metales y Polímeros - BOE 138- Orden EDU/1561/2011).
Our school is the only one in Alicante offering plastic injection vocational training.
Moulding is offered under a dual scheme: students study and work in moulding companies simultaneously.
The school started in 1940`s as a vocational training school due to the development of the toy industry in the area. In 2012, new facilities started to be used with the best educational equipment in the moulding sector. (turns, milling machines, ...)
The School is currently very focused on generating new content ICTs, they have developed their own material which have been incorporated into the current curriculum (informally). Most teachers work with departments and Blogs and websites so that students are in a more comfortable means of learning.
Name: Irene Pastor Casas. English teacher for 18 years. Experience in Technical English Teaching at La Foia School for Moulding Vocational Training (upper grade) for 2 years.
Tehnička škola Sisak (Croatia)
Tehnicka skola Sisak is a vocational school and it is one of five high schools in Sisak, which is an industrial and commercial city in the central part of Croatia with approximately 50,000 citiziens. The school has 494 students, 43 teachers and 7 management staff.
Our students are mostly from the town of Sisak and its suburbs. Many of them have experience in travelling abroad. Their social status can be considered as Croatian middle class.
In Tehnicka skola Sisak there are four-year educational programs for engineering technicians, electronics technicians and environmental technicians. Besides the regular classes, we also provide adult education in the field of CAD-CAM and CNC. As a part of the school of engineering there is a new Centre for teaching new technologies, which consists of CNC and CAD labs and a demonstration room for automation and robotics. Within the CNC lab we have four EMCO teaching CNC machines two lathe machines and two milling machines. Also we have a producing Spinner CNC tool machining centre and a Spinner CNC lathe.
Tehnicka skola Sisak seeks to promote cooperation with similar schools in Croatia and Europe, to improve the quality of teaching and education. So far, Technical School Sisak implemented a CARDS 2003 project of the EU, when we purchased two production CNC machines as a part of the project. This project was aimed at increasing the level of competence of local unemployed population.
Then we did a few specialised courses for adults in the area of CAD and CNC. After those courses our students were given the appropriate qualifications and because of that they were able to get a job more easily.
In 2011 we realized a Leonardo da Vinci VETPRO project named “Exchange of better practise in vocational training, especially CNC technics“ and our vocational teachers went to Germany where they improved their knowledge in some German companies with cutting-edge CNC technology.
Our goal in this project is to expand vocational teachers' competence and students' skills through the integration of different expert areas and to include these experiences in our future teaching.
The role of Tehnicka skola Sisak is to coordinate this project, and to actively participate with their vocational teachers and regular students in designing and manufacturing a new product by CNC techniques which will be one of the results of CNC&IT partnership project.

Šolski center Krško-Sevnica (Slovenia)
Technical secondary school Krško is an organizational unit of School centre Krško-Sevnica. 550 students attend mechanical engineering, computer science and electrotechnical programmes.
Our students have been successful in various competitions – Mathematics, Slovene, English, sports, photography, Electrotechnics, Mechanical Engineering etc. Unfortunately, our students have not had many opportunities to cooperate in international projects, so we believe this would be a unique chance for them.
Besides the regular classes, we also provide adult education in the field of CAD-CAM and CNC. We use CNC and CAD laboratories and demonstration room for automation and robotics. Within the CNC lab we have two EMCO teaching CNC machines one lathe machine and one milling machine. Also we have a producing DOOSAN PUMA 2000SY CNC machining 4-axis lathe.
Our organization works in de-privileged area of Posavje, whose educational structures and employment rates are almost the lowest in the country. Furthermore, our school is attended by many migrant students (mostly from ex-Yugoslav countries and Albania), who face exclusion, mockery, and learning problems, which derive from the lack of linguistic skills.
We also educate students with special needs (physical and learning disabilities), who likewise need encouragement and an opportunity to be integrated. We have a special programme - lower vocational education - which is intended for students with special needs, who will also be included in the project.
Our school has a very important role in the region since it provides a big proportion of human resources, namely technical staff.
We are the leading region in the field of energy resources.
Our role in the project is mostly in CAD-CAM part of the project. Our staff and students will attend courses of the specific 4 axis programming of CNC machines with Catia tool, which will be provided by our partner from world of work Cadcam lab. Since we already have certain knowledge on that area and have suitable machines and software, we will finally produce part of chosen products on our machines.

Zespół Szkół nr 10 (Poland)
Our school is located in a big city of almost 200 thousand inhabitants. Zabrze is situated in the Silesian region, an industrial area in the southern Poland. Local industry was mostly connected with mining, but recently a lot of coal mines and other big industrial companies have been closed down and the mployment structure is undergoing the significant change. The local authorities decided to put impact on education and sport. The branch of the largest Technical University in the region is located in Zabrze and new departments are being opened.
Our school is situated in Mikulczyce, the district of Zabrze, which used to be a town itself for several centuries. The school includes Junior High School, Secondary School and Technical Secondary School. We have been improving level of education each year and the final exams' results are increasing.
Our Technical Secondary School has a very long tradition dating back to 1965. Previously there used to be electrical and electronic specialities but now the school is IT oriented and this is the major school speciality. In this school year we have opened a biomedical computer informatics class in cooperation with the Technical University.
We have never taken part in Leonardo da Vinci Project. Now we want to cooperate with other technical schools which have different profile and take some experience in connecting information technology and sector of manufacture. Our students and teachers would like to visit vocational schools abroad and learn about special programs used in the industry there. It will be also a great opportunity to improve English. So, the main goal of taking part in the project is rising competence of teachers’ and students’ skills.
The role of our school is to make a web site and create multimedia teaching materials such as programing web site or programing CNC.
